ON THE HUNT...

HELLO WONDERFUL BEINGS!

I am just putting this out there for the sake of putting it out there so...here it goes!

I am on the hunt for a wonderful new position in the Los Angeles area. I am looking for full time but freelance will work as well.

I have spend the past four years in marketing working in the fashion/bridal industry.

I don't have many connections over here on the West Coast so any leads are much appreciated.

In terms of what I would love to do to....
I am both a designer and yoga teacher so working in a holistic industry would be amazing. I am looking to work within a company I can identify with and am passionate about and this would also include companies focused on sustainability, bohemian vibes or an agency/freelance role with a great feel. Most of all I am passionate about crafting the feeling behind a brand- developing, planning and enacting the emotion behind that which defines a company.

I do this in the following mediums:
-graphic design
-social media + blogging
-branding
-front end web design
-display design + installation

Simply asking for any and all connections!

WELL, IF THE MOON SAYS SO...

ONE PIECE WONDERS

Spending a little time in Palm Springs, contemplating all of the blessed and amazing changes that are taking place in my life.... and in while in this higher level of conscious connection I am also obsessing over one piece swim suits. Now that I live in a year round temperate climate, I feel the need to stock up on my options and as I rapidly approach 30, nothing seams more chic and sexy than a elegantly cut one piece.

Here is a little inspiration, in an effort to start blogging again:

MET GALA: THINGS WORTH LOOKING AT...

Met Gala fashion is one of my weaknesses- fashion for fashion's sake in the purest form. Vain and self absorbed yes, but also great, so, so great.

I may be blogging about this more to tell you how much I disliked rather than what it was I liked.  Either too 'costume-y' or too drab- I felt like there were A LOT of misses, A LOT of repeats and A LOt of 90's fashion garbage recycled to wet the whistles of the current generation.

But lets focus less on what was good or bad and just keep the thoughts on what was interesting and different.  Here's what I think was worth looking at...

*Please note, I'm a total sucker for a ball gown ( Hayden P. gets my pick for the belle of the balls). I am also a sucker for a good french blue (a la Kim Kardashian- sorry folks)!

Top Pick: Nicole Richie. Sorry I'm not sorry for this one.

SIMPLE TRUTH

I've been focused on simplicity lately. I have been craving simple. I've made a life goal of it. But, its such a fragile thing. Simplicity comes with ease, not effort. The harder you try to make things simple, the more difficult and complex they become just by the simple nature of trying.
So here is to not trying, just being, and attracting a simple answer.

A few more quotes that are currently resonating with me lately...

"If the path ahead of you is clear, its probably someone else's."
There are no answers, and no finite point in time when things are 'finished' or 'perfect'. Life is a continuous motion, not a stagnate pool. It's human nature to continually want more. Having your journey laid out in front of you means you aren't challenging yourself, you aren't asking what you can do better, fuller, brighter, easier. The future is never clear unless you're fearful of it. So here is to embracing the unknown and loving each (however scary) moment.

"There is no truth. There is only you, and what you make the truth"- Conor Oberst
Always a favorite. PERCEPTION people- reality is a matter of opinion. Be in tune with this and you will be much more able to accept other's actions.

WE DO: THE RAIN.

After a few years in the bridal industry, I worry I am a bit jaded of the usual scene. But every once in a while I see a wedding that reminds me why I fell in love with...well, love, in the first place. There's nothing that gets me more than an incredibly alternative, out-of-the-box, non-traditional wedding. And no, I'm not taking about mason jars, wild flowers and craft paper overload- oye! I mean a true moment, shared between two people, void of fluff or inauthenticity in a style that is truly their own.

Check out this wedding that has helped shake off the cloud of cynicism that I often express for weddings and renewed my love for this age old tradition.

When two people, not fearful of the day, embrace the rain.

After all, its only rain.
